Position Scope
The Director of Quality is responsible for strategically leading the vision, definition, implementation, and management of the Quality System for the organization to ensure alignment with the company’s objectives, and goals.
Location & Travel: This position it eligible to be Remote, located anywhere in the U.S. Expected travel for this position is up to 50%
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee the implementation, documentation, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure full alignment with industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships and influence others at all levels of the organization and with external partners to drive results
- Strategically managing quality operations within the organization and ensuring the system is fully implemented and operating in accordance with group and company requirements
- Lead root cause analyses for quality-related issues.
- Develop and implement effective corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans to mitigate risk and prevent recurrence of non-conformances.
- Establish the foundational framework, policies, and procedures required to support robust quality systems from the ground up.
- Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date quality documentation and records, ensuring traceability, compliance, and accessibility during internal or external audits.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret quality data from multiple sources to identify trends, deviations, and areas of concern.
- Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to develop, customize, and implement site- or project-specific quality procedures that align with overarching quality objectives and contractual obligations
Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Quality Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- 10+ years of QA/QC experience in a construction environment; Renewable energy and electrical experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with medium and/ or high voltage substations, collection systems, transmission lines, and /or BESS preferred.
- Prior experience establishing quality programs or departments
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and time management skills.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and work in field conditions as required
- Strong knowledge of ISO standards, quality tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis), and regulatory compliance practices.
- Strong leadership skills and entrepreneurship attitude.
- Demonstrated capability to make decisions and to gain cooperation from others.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, manage expectations and meet tight deadlines.
- Six Sigma certification is an asset.
- Ability to travel up to 50%
